About Me

Hello!

My name is Kyrinne Lockhart. I am a Registered Nurse practicing in the field of psychiatric disorders.  I have been specializing my practice since graduating from nursing school in 2016.

I am proud to be a mental health nurse, valuing the process of developing therapeutic-relationships and problem solving through caring communication, team work, and critical thinking.  I approach care through a holistic recovery oriented lens; each person is a unique individual with their own biochemistry and socio-environmental influences. I believe that this is important part of understanding who they are and how to help them be successful in managing their symptoms and their pathway to recovery.

One of my favourite areas of practice is in the role of educator.  I believe in empowerment through education, and this is reflected in my professional mission and vision.  My role of educator takes on many forms, from client education to educating nursing students.  Part of being an educator is also being a student; to ensure that I am partaking in my professional development through lifelong learning.  The field of psychiatric care is relatively new and there are still many unknowns in the enigma that is mental health. It is important to stay up to date in its developments so that I am able to provide a high-standard of care and have the knowledge that my clients and students need to be successful.
